FACE IT Scholars Learning Community
A First-year Learning Community
FACE IT Scholars is a professional development and mentoring program for 25 undergraduate psychology majors (or minors). It is designed to provide mentorship, exposure, and experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate students with an interest in psychology and behavioral health professions. This communite fosters personal growth, critical thinking, and hands-on experience in psychology fields. It is ideal for those exploring careers in counseling, research, or clinical psychology.
As a Learning Community. FACE IT Scholars will aim to:
- Assist students with their transition to college and socialization into their scholarly and professional identities.
- Provide a community of support and space to engage in varied conversations (i.e., related to barriers, challenges, and opportunities) that aim to fill gaps in knowledge or restructure counterproductive thinking/behavior.
- Increase social capital through network-building.
- Help Scholars develop transferable skills.
- Promote retention, engagement, and the use of available resources.

- Spring PSY 381F & SEM 102
Requirements: Interested students must enroll in Learning Communities sections of Spartan Seminar (SEM) 101 and 102 and the accompanying Psychology courses. Students in the FACE IT Learning Community are required to participate in FACE IT events and activities as well as scheduled co-curricular Learning Communities events and activities.
